The concept of death acts as a regulator for a person. It steers your life towards the correct path, providing the right course of action. It guides how your planning should be, regulating your way of thinking, behavior, speech, and activities. It directs the course you should take.
According to a Hadith: أَكْثِرُوا ذِكْرَ هَادِمِ اللَّذَّاتِ، يَعْنِي الْمَوْتَ the Prophet said: “Remember death often because it demolishes all desires.” Reflect on this. What does it mean that death destroys desires? Here, the meaning of desire is not about taste. You create the blueprint for your life and live according to it, driven by your ambitions and striving to fulfill your desires. The goal you devote all your energy into achieving is the fulfilment of your desires, which will ultimately be destroyed. In other words, death suddenly reveals what you have truly gained. It demolishes all the planning that a person does concerning this world and reminds you to plan for the Hereafter, to plan for eternity.
Therefore, I understand that the concept of death acts as a regulator for a person. It steers your life towards the correct path, providing the right course of action. It guides how your planning should be, regulating your way of thinking, behavior, speech, and activities. It directs the course you should take.
